Do pets go to Heaven?

So what does everyone think? Is there anywhere in the Bible that talks about family pets or any animal for that matter going to Heaven?

  1. I have always believed that our pets will go to Heaven. God loves animals so much. He knows how much love and joy they bring us here on earth. The Bible does mention animals in Heaven. (Isaiah 65:25, the wolf and the lamb) I think it doesn't mention our pets going to Heaven because it is for us to read and understand and learn. A book can't do that for horses, dogs or cats.

  2. Great post! I have always been under the impression that animals dont go to Heaven because they dont have souls. I hope I am wrong because I become pretty attached to my pets and like my loved ones, I would like to see my pets in Heaven as well.

  3. Mike, sorry, but you are right. The very thing that separates us from the animals will keep us apart for eternity. Genesis 2:7 is the verse where God breathed into Adams nostril. Out of all of the other living things; animals, fish, birds, dragons, dinosaurs, plants, and my favorite ( http://s295.photobucket.com/albums/mm145/eliptp/interests/?action=view&current=sasquatch.jpg&newest=1 ) only man had life breathed into them directly from God. No soul, no afterlife.

But, that doesn't mean that God can't create dogs while in heaven! And with no sin, no errors, no greed.....people wont do stupid things, like trying to mix a poodle and a ....... well, anything really.

  5. There are definitely animals (creatures) in Heaven... Revelation 5:13 - And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying...

The souls of 'men' are raised up, not animals. So I think that all living things are part of his creation but only men have immortal spirits. Earthly animals are here temporarily.
